I Have Been On Prilosec For 11 Years

i have a burning sensation  on my center of my stomach and my esophagus is burning i had a endoscopy done 6 months ago i don't want another one.. so scared i heard alot bad thing about PPI'S Need Some Help

This sounds like GERD (acid reflux).  You can try over the counter Prilosec to see if that helps, it does my husband.

Prilosec made me feel weirded out and almost out of it like depressed... my husband says it turned me into a zombie... it worked wonders for my acid reflux though..  you defintly have to watch what you eat as well though.. I had an endoscopy as well as a mannometry test done and my lower esophogus is weak... since the prilosec worked but gave me weird side effects my GI dr put me on Aciphex which works just as great and no weird side effects from it.

Just looking through the forums but never see my issues addressed. However, I did see your post on the Prilosec and this confuses me.  I have chronic dry mouth/throat and a feeling of something stuck in my throat.  Several docs later, all ENT docs always want to give you meds for GERD, which I don't have.  I also have Osteo.  When I was on Nexium for 4-5 mos straight, I developed severe muscle pain and a fractured rib.  Saw an endo doc and she told me to not take the Nexium or Omeprazole (Prilosec) due to the possible side effects.  Called my doc the other day because I have had stomach pain and feeling of nausea.  He tells me to take the Omeprazole!!!  Next day,  no better so asked the pharmacist if I could take it 3 times a day instead of twice.  He told me I was already on twice the dose and should only be taking it once a day (20 mg).  I get on the Internet to see you should only take this med for 14 days then be off of it for 4 mos before starting another 14 day routine.  What????  My doc has had me on and off this med and I have a refillable prescription for 30 days worth.  Now, I'm questioning how/why you have been on this med for 11 years???

i Feel Better

The Reason I Got Off It Heard It Cause Bone Damage And Esophagus Cancer Long Term So i Do All Natural Now 5 Days
