IBS-D?

I have been plagued with a severe "runs" problem for the last five years.  No matter what I eat, I will lose it in 30 minutes after eating. It's usually accompaned with alot of gas and intestinal cramping.  I am up to five Immodium a day and sometimes that doesn't even work. As time goes by, I am beginning not to be able to eat various foods and my diet consists basically of boneless, skinless baked chicken, potatoes, and ground turkey.  I've lost about 70 pounds in less than a year.

My doctor has put me through every kind of test you can imagine trying to diagnose the problem.  As a matter of fact, I can tell you what I DON'T have! I went to my local health food store and talked to the lady there and she said it sounded like I had IBS-D.  Does anyone else have a similar problem, and if so, has it been diagnosed?

I had a friend who suffered just like you, and none of the doctors could help her. She was practically home bound! Her aunt suggested a tablespoon or two of Knox Gelatin in some orange juice every morning would help her.  She told her she may have to play around with the amount of gelatin but to try it.  We both that it was hokey but she was desperate after losing control of her bowels while at the mall, and tried it one morning.  That day her life changed for the better, her aunt was right!  For over 20 years now she still drinks this every morning and has had no issues since.  I see now where they recommend jello for children and adults for diarrhea.  You'll get nice fingernails to boot!  Let me know how this works for you.  A lot of women drink the Knox Gelatin just for their nails, so you know it's safe and well worth a try.  Take care.
