What will help with your constipation when it occurs is Magnesium Citrate 250-1,000mg with meals 3 x day, then decrease as BM become regular.
Hope all goes well.
Thank you, this does help. I'm not much of a bread lover but can add it to my daily diet. I DO get exercise as I live on the side of a mountain and have a long (74') deck to sweep daily and an acre of yard to rake from turkey feathers and other animal debris. I especially like the banana and orange suggestion; I really miss them. I will try the psyllium husk too. Thank you for your knowledge and for sharing it with me. MtMamaOne
You maybe don't need to be so strict in avoiding all fruits/vegetables. Bananas, strawberries, lemons, limes, oranges, cranberries are often well tolerated. From vegetables, spinach and lettuce (not iceberg) may be OK. If you eat cereals take them with enough water. Bread (not toast) is good food, if you can eat wheat. People with fructose malabsorption which are constipated usually take psyllium husk in the evening. Mineral water with magnesium also works a s slight laxative. Avoid nuts. Have white meat instead of red.
Be well hydrated all the time (no need to exaggerate with fluid though). You must be physically active. When you get constipated, drink some water, eat some bread or so, and have at least a 30 min of fast walk - I can say this often helps.
