In August, I started getting these strange abdominal pains. Almost like a sharp, yet dull gnawing pain around my bellybutton area, never excruciating by any means but just gnawing. I never woke up with pain and it always started hurting right around lunchtime. I went to the doctor and he ran a blood test to check everything, including my liver, kidney, etc functions as well as any food allergies. I also had an ultrasound performed to check for ulcers or a hernia and nothing was found. Then it just went away. It came back every now and then but for the most part my stomach issues were totally gone. Then about three weeks ago, they all came back- the same exact symptoms I was having. I can't tie it to any food specifically that I could be intolerant to and it never hurts when I wake up- it's always around lunchtime, then it kind of settles down and sometimes starts hurting again after dinner, sometimes not. I never feel like I'm going to throw up, haven't lost any weight, and I never feel bloated. It's just this gnawing pain right in the middle of my stomach- almost like an acidic pain but alka seltzer and tums don't always make it go away. My stomach is also a little more rumbly than usual when I eat and sometimes I have loose stools and gas. It hurts the most when I'm sitting down and feels a lot better when I walk around. My doctor literally has no idea what it could be and is in the process of referring me to a GI. Any ideas? I'm starting to think I may have a duodenal ulcer but I truly don't know.
