pain on left side.....

I have been expericing pain on the left side below the ribs.  It started in late dec 08.  I went to the dr for my physical in Jan and he thoroughly felf the area and told me it was muscular.  The pain went away for 2 weeks and came back.  I notice it when sitting or laying down.  The pain feels dull, it comes and goes.  I have been sleeping normally and eating well.  I have not had an upset stomach or vomiting.  The pain sometimes will go into the middle of chest.  I sometimes notice rumbling sounds on the left side too.

I am having the exact same thing going on with me. I have been to many doctors but no answers. I was told by a lady that my spleen had to be enlarged. I am going to the dr next week for a full blood panel to be checked for the infection or bacteria that could have caused this. My husband even thinks we may have some kind of parasite. Hopefully I will know in a few weeks. Did you ever get your answers?

I am experiencing the exact same thing. Bloated feeling on the left side and small area in mid lower ribs aches. Sometimes it moves over to my mid section just above my belly button about 4 inches.

I've had (CT scans, Colonoscopy, ultrasounds, blood work, urine, etc..) and they can find nothing.

It's driving me crazy because I know something is wrong, but doctors just can't find anything. I got one doc trying to put me on Cymbalta.

Last night I walked in the bathroom and looked in the mirror and my left side (extreme left almost same height as my belly button) was, noticeably, pooching out more than my right.

I just wanted to let you know that I feel for you and just go to the doctor and get some tests done. Hopefully it will work better for you than it has for me.
