hi my lpr started the same way as yours did a heavy cold then these strange symptoms, i doubted the condition also at first, the doctor precribed omeprazole  which i took for 6 months they had no effect so i went back and he put me on nexium 400mg once a day which worked for me after taking them for about 3 months.the only symptom i have now is from time to time is asthma which i was told is related to lpr.please go back to your doctor and ask him if you can try nexium i no how horrible these symptoms are and at times thought i was going mad.

I am experiencing just these syptoms and was told it may be LPR. I am taking Omeprazole for acid reflux but have noticed no improvement.
CHOKING EPISODES
FEELING OF LUMP IN THROAT
EXCESSIVE THROAT CLEARING
I am seriously doubting this condition is what I truly have because it came on following a horrible flu with massive chest congestion and coughing spasms. It just does not make sense to me that an acid reflux condition could come out of nowhere immediately following last year's flu strain that was not covered by the flu shot. Does not seem to matter what I eat or when I eat it. Really bewildered.

Have you changed your diet significantly - other than just avoiding spicy foods - and have you made lifestyle changes?

Were you diagnosed following an upper endoscopy? If so, did the written report and the biopsy report show anything other than GERD/LPR?
