Looking for some Adivce if possible!

I have recently been diagnosed with PVC's (premature ventricular contractions), which my cardiologist said were normal. But since then,Ive been stuggling immensly and having a hard time staying healthy. I recently had a appt with my doctor and we sat down trying to figure out what could be triggering my PVC's. I told him of how my stomach and lower stomach area (intenstine's ect) weren't feeling normal. I have been experiencing alot of gas anytime or whatever I eat, which is usually the same toxic smell. It really smells horrible, and I have often diarrhea too. He suggested I see a GI,(i think thats what it's called) and see if anything came up. I told him I didnt want to waste anyones time and turned it down. But now I'm starting to wonder if these PVC's are related to any stomach issues? And if anyone has ever heard of any issues of such sort or why is this gas so toxic smelling?? Any ideas? Should i take back that referral?

Hey, I'm glad to hear that the palps are doing a little better. What kind of food helps you?? The EP thing, is an electrophysiologist study. To see what is electrically wrong with my heart that's causing such symptomatic pvc's. Maybe discuss an ablation. Its rare that they give people with pvc's an ablation unless it's causing bad arrythmia's. In my case ive been experience VT now in the last 2 weeks and PAC's. It seems alot worse lately, and continuing to get worse. But the docs just keep saying I wont die..just hold on..you'llmakeit. Either way..I hope something is found why these are happening and something is done to reduce them. I can handle a few hundred a day (noticable ones for sure) ..but not a few thousand. Every single pvc i experience is noticable. And the are rock hard pvc's too. They shake my body good. Its a battle I tell you!!

I am doing well so far today, we'll see if that continues after lunch time.
Sorry to hear about the BB side effect, hopefully the Dr can find something that helps you.
My Dr mentioned trying Lorpressor on me if the Verapamil doesn't work.

Last night I ate only "GERD" friendly food and I didn't get the palps as bad last night either. I have also elevated the head of my bed 6' and that seems to keep them at bay most of the time at night.
I am hoping that through lifestyle changes I can control my GERD and my PAC's and PVC's and minimal meds.

P.S. What is EP that your cardiologist mentioned?

Hey,yeah today hasnt been a great day...I started my BB...and about 3 hours later I found myself dizzy like never before..and 10hrs later I still find myself a little fuzzy. The part i dont understand is that it was oly 5mg and the BB was called Bisoprolol. I phoned my doc and he said that it was low chance of that happening but it could happen. And it did. So he advised me to get off the BB and come see him. Not sure what the next step is going to be...but my cardiologist mentioned the EP route if all wasnt well. This is quite exhausting..and the stomach issues seem to still be around. U??

which Beta Blocker are you going to take?

Nasty liquid stuff could only Carafate, I take that too 1 hour before meals, it does seem to help but its expensive, 60.00 a month!! because its non preferred per my insurance company.
I have heard good things about CoQ10, I go back to my Dr on the 20th and I want to ask him about taking it first due to I have no idea how it will interact with the Calan I take.
The Calan isn't helping so I want to stop taking it but I may have to gradually come off of it, so I am waiting to see the Dr before doing type of med changes.
Let me know how you do with the new meds.

Wow, its comforting to know that there's people like yourself that are still searching for answers. I too was diagnosed with GERD a long time ago, and too went through meds like Nexuim, Zantac, and another perscription I cant remember. They helped with the GERD somewhat, but lately havent helped at all with the PVC's. So I'm also wondering where there coming from. I also drank that crappy stuff, its sucked!!! Well if you have any break throughs or want to say hi, You know where to find me!! Take care
(I'm starting a BB tomorrow, I'll let you know how it goes, I'm also trying Hawthorne and co-q10 with it..if you havent already tried them) Let you know how it goes for the PVC's.

Hi I was just reading your post and I have the same thing and I have been looking for answers just like you.
I have been diagnosed with GERD and I also have PVC's and PAC's. I have had all the cardio work ups, stress test, heart catheter, etc. and was told my heart was fine.
So now I am looking for other reasons for the flutters in my heart and because the GERD and the flutters seemed to have started around the same time I can't help but think they are related.
I take Nexium 40mg a day for the GERD but it isn't helping so I may end up going to a GI even though my Dr ordered a complete gastro work up. I had the tests done where you drink that foul liquid and they x-ray your esophagus and intestines while you drink it, all they said they saw was "slight" GERD. I was sure I had a hiatal hernia but they said no.
I also take Verapamil for the PAC's and PVC's and it isnt working either so I still havent found the right meds or combination of meds to treat either.

Good luck to you and don't think your crazy there are more out there like you than you think.

Thankyou for the reply. I actually went to see my cardiologist this morning and he on a BB to see if that would help. Then I jumped office to my doctor and he suggested I go to a GI appt too. He also mentiod the IBS too. Said it's a good possibility but couldnt say for sure. I'm just trying to shed some light on my situation. Are you PVC's more prone after you eat, or are they there constantly? Have a GREAT DAY!!

I get unmeasurable heart palpitations myself.  I don't know if they're related to the GI problems I have or not, but it seems like I do get a lot more of these unmeasurable heart palpitations when I'm having more GI symptoms than when I'm not.  I think it would be a good idea to talk to a GI myself and keep the referral with the GI.  You may have something called Irritable Bowel Syndrome, which can be helped a lot with dietary changes.  I'm still wondering why I'm getting the unmeasurable heart palpitations that I've since learned are PVC.  Doctors used to try to say it was panic attacks, but it's not because I get them out of the blue when I'm kicking back and relaxing.  I do know what you mean about the PVC and the GI symptoms, though.  They just might be related, because of what I just said has been my own experience, but I'm not entirely sure either.
