Hi Pennymoon,
I, too, have been diagnosed with rapid gastric emptying at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester. The motility test only show the rapid emptying occurring during the first hour of the 6 hour test, then everything normalizes. So not sure what I should be doing exactly. They gave me Hyoscyamine but I've noticed no improvement. I have horrible nausea from the time I get up until the evening hours. I have lost 20 lbs since last summer. It is ruining my life and i don't know where else to turn now that mayo couldn't seem to come up with anything more. Any help from anyone would be greatly appreciated. Holliday

I have dumping syndrome without ever having surgery. I had the motility test done at Mayo Clinic, Rochester to confirm. I've seen lots of Doctors and they basically say I'll never know the cause. I follow an anti-dumping diet but am still very sick all the time. If you come across any good information please let me know. If you have any questions let me know as well.
Possible causes are: dumping syndrome, hyperthyroidism, incompetent pylorus (muscle at the exit of stomach), , diabetes, stress, sugary diet...Try to search about dumping syndrome.
One test can be glucose level after the meal.
If you feel bloated, breath tests for H. pylori and for small intestinal bacterial overgrowth may be done.
