No BM

I have had irregular BM for over a year. I usually only have one about once a week. I rarely have the urge to have a BM. I have been taking stool softners and fiber suplements for a couple of  months but it doesn't seem to be helping. For the last 3 weeks I have not been able to have a BM or have the urge to have one with out taking a laxitive. Do you have any advice or know what may be wrong?

(ive copied and pasted this from another reply cause im tired of retyping it and im lazy)
for 2 years ive had bouts of horrible constipation.  about 7 months ago i woke up and had never felt so weak.  after putting my sons shoes on for church i had to lay down and rest cause it wiped me out.  the fatigue continued off and on for awhile.  i developed pain in my intestinal and colon area and at times felt severly bloated.  i had back pains.  the the paint started shooting into the frontal lobes of my hip bone and then going around to the back.  later the pain moved up into my abdomen and under my rib cages, especially on the left.  in  2 months i lost 20 lbs.  i tried to force feed my self to gain weight but it made me feel so sick to eat.  after over 4 months of doctor visits they finally sent me for a colonscopy.  it turned out normal.  a month later almost all the pain is gone and im back to my normal weight and i couldnt be anymore regular.  my suggestion is to just go ahead and get the big tests done and end the worrying.

that constipation that started 2 years ago was horrible.  i didnt go at all till it was just pretty much had no more room.  the first doctor put me on hydrocil and that worked for about a year.  a few months after that i got bad again and started the hydrocil but i did nothing.  i doubled the the dose and still nothing and shortly after all the above mentioned began.  now im doing the best in years.  i have a bm everyday around 3-4 pm.

I am not a doctor but I have been having digestive problems and have been doing research.  Could it be that your colon muscles have stopped working/contracting to push out the stool?  I do not remember what they called it....lazy colon or something.  Check it out and ask your doctor.
I was not able to have a BM....I only went a couple of days without a BM though, then started using powder fiber in an 8 ounce glass of water.  The glass of water w/powder works better than the fiber supplements.  Also add Activia yogurt to your diet in addition to glass of water/citrucel.  Do this every day (one Activia yogurt cup and one 8 ou glass of powder fiber) for a week and see if that helps.  It helped me.
