Polyp growth

I am a 52 year old female who has been having pain in my upper stomach right side.  Many tests were performed to reveal nothing.  I had an ultrasound done 3 months ago and it revealed a 4mmx5mmx4mm polyp.  I had a follow up ultrasound done today and it revealed a 6mmx4mmx3mm polyp.  What does this mean.  It seems like it is growing but in shape not size.  Is this something to be concerned about.

My aged father had non-cancerous polyps in his stomach that were causing pain and discomfort and he had them surgically removed endoscopically - he's been fine since then.

I would imagine your doc would want to do a biopsy to make sure it's nothing serious.

Welcome to the gastroenterology community!  In my opinion, but I am not a doctor, it doesn't sound like the polyp is growing at all.  Are you talking about a gallbladder polyp?  Ultrasounds aren't get precise which is probably why there is a small change in the measurement.
