Re-occurring Mild Pancreatitis

I have had what my gastroenterologist calls mild pancreatitis several times in the last few years. What can I do to prevent the pancreatitis from re-occurring? Is there a specific diet? My doctor just says, "bed rest, lots of fluids, a light diet." I'm not sure what "a light diet" means. Since I already eat light (6 VERY small meals a day - due to my many intestinal surgeries), I don't know what more I can do. I do not drink alcohol and am a woman age 60 with a history of intestinal obstruction. Doctors have already removed my reproductive organs, gall bladder, appendix, several sections of intestine, my omentum and 1/3 of the large colon. I am weary from the pain, sweating, fever and chills, and want to do whatever I can do to prevent pancreatitis from happening again. Does anyone have a solution?

How did they find out you had pancreatitis? Can this be seen on an ultrasound?

you can check into getting on some digestive enzyme theropy.
these enzymes you would take before meals, and they will help you digest your food accordingly.
seems like with all the problems your having with you intestines, your not digesting properly because of it.
they enzymes will take care of this, and allow the pancreas to relax.
i enourage you to check into this.
