Regular stomach pain / pain when passing stool.

Hello,

I'm a 21-year-old female. I take Levothyroxine.

I've always had this problem, perhaps, once, twice a month? Since I've been about fifteen or sixteen. No one really knew what it was. When I was 12, 15, 18 and 21 respectively I even went to hospital because I got so sick, with both vomiting and severe diahhrea, I was dyhydrating and begining to bring up my stomach lining. I've always found it odd how it happens every three years. The last one - 21 - wasn't as bad as the previous though, no stomach lining. The doctors put it down to gastroentheitus.

Recently It's gotten worse, I am getting pains regularly. They can come for two days, vanish for five, come back, go, come again within the next three days.

When I pass stool, it is usually fairly loose, and sometimes it only makes the pain worse. It can feel like my stomach is going to explode, and hurt so bad my head pounds, but it'll just feel like it's not going to come, yet at the same time, I know if I get up and try to get on with my day, I'll need to go again.

Back around Christmas I had blood in my stool twice. It was bright, and I went to a clinic, but they said everything appeared fine and to just keep an eye on it.

The pain is rarely, if ever, accumpanied by nausia. Putting heat on my stomach seems to help, too.

Recently I've also been having bad back pain and wonder if it could be a hernia or some kind of obstruction, but I have seen a doctor and physiotherapist for this, who's checked my spine physically and not mentioned anything but muscle stress.

Please help!

I'll have to ask the doctor about that one but thanks for the suggestion. I've looked it up a little.

Since I have a week or so to wait I'm going to try diet changes and things, see if it calms down at all. : (

That could be consistent with a colitis.

Mostly around my belly button. It's hard to locate. More towards the front than back, but it's not a very centralized pain, it just feels everywhere.

It could be some sort of colitis.  Where is your pain located?

Thank you for the advice.

Do you have any ideas at all?

I've made an appointment now but it's not until the 18th.

I would highly recommend you see a GI doctor about this and get some testing done to figure out what is wrong.

Welcome to the gastroenterology community!  By "gastroentheitus" do you mean gastroenteritis?  It is unlikely that this is an obstruction.  Have you seen a gastroenterologist about this?  Have you had any testing done?
