Severe Pain, Help please!

Ok.. long story short I have been diagnosed with IBS.  To come to that conclusion, I had a full abdominal ultrasound because my Dr thought it was some kind of gallbladder problem.  The test came back normal.  

(I was diagnosed only about a month ago)

Recently (a few weeks ago, it went away, now it has started up again) I am having severe pain within my left rib cage, just under the breast.  If I bend just slightly, it puts me in tears, it hurts to touch it, and it hurts to cough.  Also when I cough, I can taste blood, however I don't actually see any.  

I'm getting very concerned, I will be scheduling an appointment with my Dr, however he is busy and it takes a while to get in for an appointment.

Please please help.

I was talking with my mom about it and she thinks it might have something to do with my intestines... especially since I have IBS.  I don't know though.  I'm really confused about it, so, once I know next weeks work schedule, I'm going to make a doctor appointment asap.  I hate being in this pain.

I have had my gallbladder removed and have been diagnosed with Sphincter of Oddi dysfunction since.  All of my pain has been localized to the upper RIGHT side of my abdomen.  If yours is primarily on the left, it may not have anything to do with your gallbladder.  However, my ultrasounds too came back normal on my gallbladder.  They had to do a test that tested the function of it and it showed that my gallbladder was functioning at 0%.  You might suggest having that done if the gallbladder being the culprit is still a possibility.  Whatever gets done though, make sure you get to the bottom of it.  Your health is very important and if you stay persistent, you will eventually find answers!  Take care and many blessings!!!
