Anal Abrasions

I am writing to get professional feedback on a few situations.  In the process of collecting information to write an article, I have a few questions about anal issues.

First, when an anal irritation is present, upon wiping will there be faint blood (mild pinkish color not bright red)?  As if wiping a skin abrasion?  Is there a feeling of irritation upon wiping?

Second, when anal veins bleed, will the blood be noticeable as bright red marks on the toilet paper where there is no question as to the difference between a skin irritation and a broken vein?  How much blood is expected with either an internal breaking or an external?  And, should it be an external is it noticeable to feel it even through the toilet paper when wiping or pressing up against it?  Do only thrombosed ones bleed?  Is there always pain involved when the internals or externals bleed and to what degree of pain?  Many articles say its painful, but never the expected degree, and since many people have different ideas of pain, I wanted to have a basis on which to rely.

Third, with fissures, what is the expected amount of blood?  Also, what is the healing time?

Thank you very much for your help.

Depends on the reason for the bleeding...hemorrhoids, internal and external...as well fissures can be from various causes...you need to find out why there is a fissure, and also healing can take a long time as the bacteria causes infections in the injured areas and can also cause a fistula. If the fissure turns into an absess, it needs to be surgically addressed. If the opening of the fissure closes off it leads to more absess and infection. It is very difficult to heal. The source of it needs to be addressed and determined. Sometimes CT scan or MRI can be helpful in determining the extent of the damage.

Hi there!

Yes, abrasions can occur from excessive wiping.
The blood may have a red or a brown tinge.
The amount of bleeding is variable and not particularly specific for a condition.
Hope this information is helpful.
