let me explain gallbladder pain the way I had it- when you see people about to keel over from a heart attack and gasping for breath- that's what I looked like- and no not for me- It didn't help any by "holding the area" unless it is a stone????
When I had a gallbladder attack the gasping YES- I couldn't take in much air- and I ALWAYS sent my kids out of the room so they wouldn't have to watch it- it is so frightening to see your mother bent over in pain and not able to inhale- it was slow coming on almost like a labor pain and crescendo-ed :-/
then when it finally dissipated- I could inhale again.....
but I hope you have found what is wrong- it would be an easy fix- I had 3 surgeries in 3 years and it was an easy recovery
You sound like for for the last 8 years, severe pain, diarhea and vomit coming out at the same time.
Tests, tests and more tests. Gallbladder negative they said.
So pain went on, I lost my job, cut-off work disability cause none of my 14 Specialists or so knew what was causing me to be in pain and ill it looked like I may be faking it.
Then from vomiting I believe I aspirated some of my stomach contents and damaged my right lung.
2007 I tell a friend my symptoms and she tells me it is my gallbladder, I tell my doctor and he chuckles and says he doesn't think so but humours me and sends tme to a another specialist, specialist first puts me on drugs to see if it is in my stomach then does the HIDA scan test, it shows sludge finally, He asks me what I want to do,, I say "Remove it" hoping this has been my problem all along.
Whew, good call, the pathologist report says :Chronic Inflammation and gallstones:
I feel so much better since it has been removed, I am not as severely fatiqued, no pain, no nausea, legs used to feel rubbery now they feel normal.
I am so happy my friend convinced me enough to believe it was my gallbladder in which I convinced my doctor to have me re-tested.
Now that I go back in time I believe 20 years ago when I thought I had food poisoning and suffered with cramps for about 5 years after, it was my gallbladder.
So I feel I have been left to suffer with gallbladder attacks for 20 years and all my doctors failed to help me which cost me money, my job. my self-esteem.
Good luck in your search for better health and I hope gallbladder is also your answer as it is unbelievable how so much better I feel once I had it removed.
I found researching on the Internet really helped me decide it was my gallbladder and I firmly believe a person has to put their health in their own hands and be their own doctor as much as possible.
I mean doctors are so busy with so many patients how do they have the time to fully research each and every ones illness.
Good luck
Sue
have you ever had a ultra sound done on the right side of your body in the area of the gallbladder? I had some major problems and had tons of tests run all mostly CT's and stuff and they never showed anything and then one day it got bad and I went to my doctor and she ordered a US stat and found that I had multiple gallstones. I just had it removed an the surgeon told my husband that I was chalked full of these and that some were even as big a a quarter!!!! No wondeer I was in pain! I had asked my doctor for a US 2 weeks before this all happened and she didn't think it was necessary and that it wouldn't show as much as a CT would and would even show the same things that a US would. well, it didn't and she ordered the US and I am now recovering from gallbladder removal surgery! The surgeon said that the gallbladder and the areas around were pretty irritated. I had some very similar symptoms including the horrid pains with constipation and the eventual evacuation of it. Talk to your doc about a US if you haven't had one already.
