Upper left abdominal pain and more

I hop eyou can help, since AUGUST I have suffered pain upper left abdominal area under ribs and sometimes radiating to my back, l suffer from Anklyosing also.   My blood pressure has also increased dramatically.   The pain under the ribs at the upper left abdo area is like something strangling inside, l constantly feel in pain and have no energy, blood counts came back normal although slightly elevated liver but of no concern and l do not even drink alcohol.   Had an upper ultrasound and the dr said he could see nothing, this is really worrying me now, l feel panicy all the time which will not help the BP.  I am really worried in case they have missed something, had many blood tests etc, friends all say l look tired, my mind is running crazy as to what this could be nearly 4 months now.  I am panicing in case l have a terminal illness but my weight is still up!

I can't imagine they don't do screening colonoscopies in the UK. But I suspect they only do that after a fecal occult blood test that indicates further investigation - you put tiny samples of your stool on a special card or cloth and send it to a lab. The lab uses chemicals to find blood that you can't see with the naked eye. With some test kits, you can add the chemicals yourself at home. FOBT tests don't cost much. Some say the test should be done every year after age 50.

Here in the UK they do not do that! so much for our medical system !

If the bloodwork is good and the imaging seems to show nothing, you could always ask for a colonoscopy to rule out any bowel issues.

You probably look tired because you seem very anxious and that can exhaust even the healthiest person. At age 50, I'm assuming you must have had a screening colonoscopy as most folks do at that age?
