Meckel's diverticulim is an inborn defect, and symptoms may appear at any age (often in children!). If it is "most common" in men, this doesn't mean you can't have it.
This diverticulum is covered with the mucosa as it is find in the gaster (stomach) or pancreas, and it may secrete acid. This may cause ulcers in the intestine, bleeding, inflammation or bowel obstruction. Diagnosis is made by one radiologic investigation, it can't be diagnosed without that, so what your doctor said, is an opinion, not diagnosis. To remove this diverticle or not - this depends on symptoms.

Actual I believe thats what it was! But I looked it up and it said it is most common in men and people over 40... Iam a 20 yr old female... I also read it was a birth defect... Do you know if they usually remove it? I really don't want surgery on my stomach again if I can avoid it...
Thank you so much for your response!!
Meckel's diverticulum?
Was it one or two words?
