Why do I have Gastroparesis?

I had my gall bladder removed on August 20, and about two weeks later I was having severe diarreha and constant vomitting after eating.  I have had two abdominal CT Scans, Xrays, ultrasounds, barium swolling test, endoscopy, colonoscopy, and stomach emptying test.  After all that they said I had Crohns first and treated with steroids.  Shortly after the diarreha got better but the vomitting got better.  After the stomach emptying test they said for the hour and a half that they looked at it nothing moved at all.  So, now I have gastroparesis, but I don't have diabetes.  There is no explaination to why I have it.  Could this be caused by the surgery?

Welcome to the gastroenterology community!  Gastroparesis can be caused by abdominal surgery because the surgery can damage the vagus nerve.  You do not need to have diabetes to have gastroparesis.  What medications are you on for the gastroparesis?  Let me know you have any other questions.

I had read something about the vagus nerve, and none these symptoms started until after the surgery.  I guess I am just a bit frustrated.  My doctor won't let me go back to work, because I throw up about eveything I eat.  I am trying to eat between 6-8 times a down, so I can at least try to maintain my wait.  But, everytime I eat I throw up at least most, if not all, of my food.  Because I am eating and drinking a lot my labs aren't showing up bad, and now my disability insurance won't pay me.  I just don't know what to do.

I suppose it could be, but I don't think they ever really know what causes gastroparesis. I mean...you can have diabetes and not have it. It's one of those diseases where it's hard to find the cause. But yeah, the gall bladder removal is probably a possibility.
