atrophic gastritis in a 30 year old

Hello,

I'm a bit panicky about a diagnosis I received couple of days ago, namely one of atrophic gastritis, following an endoscopic (tiny camera inserted into my stomach) checkup. I went to the gastroenterologist cause i felt nausea, bloating, low appetite for a couple of days.

I am still scheduled to do a blood helicobacter pylori exam tomorrow, although the tests from endoscopy and breathing test proved negative.

The doctor obtained two samples and they both came out normal, no strange cells, but they did find a lvl2 atrophy, so the pathologist said in her report.

I gather chronic atrophic gastritis, which is my diagnosis, is likely to become cancer of the stomach.

Can you please tell me what are my chances, how much time do I have and is there anything i can do to prevent the cancer from ocurring? Is there anything I can do? I never had any serious problems with my stomach before, had heartburn maybe 5 times in my life.

You're not the only person under 40 living with this. I have for almost 3 years now. I take every vitamin under the sun to make sure I'm getting enough nutrients in my body along with very high doses of HCL with my meals.

The actual percentage of cancers they mention on websites from studies appear very very low in comparison to people with this disorder. You are reading the hype of the drama-media and letting it scare you.
