atypical gallbladder symptoms?

I have been bloated with a lot of burping for the last 7 months. My Dr thought this was from acid reflux but I had an EGD that was normal and meds did not help at all. Tbe symptoms are now worse. Daily bloating and burping with occasional nausea and mild abdominal pain. Dr said he didn't think these were gallbladder symptoms but ordered a hida scan that showed a 44 % ejection fraction. Which I believe is low normal. He then ordered an MRI that showed 10 small stones but no inflamation in my gallbladder. My Dr now says I need my gallbladder removed but says he is still not positive it will help the burping and bloating. Surgeon says it will. Has anyone else had the same symptoms and have your gallbladder removed? Did it help? I feel like this daily and am so tired of it. I have tried elimating different foods but nothing helps.

My experiences tend to align with your doctor's comments about daily or, what I assume he means, day-to-day fluctuations in condition. When I have a problem, it tends to last for several weeks at a time and then there are periods of minimal discomfort. Nothing that I would say is occurring as a "daily" problem.

Thank you for your response. Nope nothing on my MRI other than stones. I just don't see why I should get my gallbladder removed unless I knew it was going to help. Sometimes I just feel like doing it in hopes that it will but it just seems so extreme. My Dr says that problems with the gallbladder shouldn't cause daily digestive systems.

I deal with it chronically myself too. Sometimes it's very bad, other times not so much. It can also cause colon gas episodes as well - lots of fun with friends! Mine is caused by a constant supply of bile sludge that my liver creates due to a nasty little disease I have. That's why removing my gallbladder isn't really a solution/requirement ... unless it becomes wildly inflamed at some point or compacted with stones. I do try to watch what I eat when it gets bad but that can only help so much of course.

In your case, no bile duct dilations or inflammation seen in the MRI that may indicate a stone passing or having passed?
