can a 26 yr old get a colon polyp?

I am 26 yrs old and have a history of colon polyps and colon cancer in my family.
My aunt had colon polyps when she was 40 and my uncle had colon cancer.
I've been bloated. I was bleeding but my dr. said it was a anal fissure (like a cut).
But I've been having problems using the bathroom. Sometimes I'm constipated and
somethimes I have diarhhea. I have very loose stools especially when Im really stressed
out and go maybe 5 to 6 times within maybe 2 hrs. Should I ask my dr to get a colonoscopy
to be on the safe side?

Yes.  Have your doctor refer you to a Gastroenterologist (GI DOC) to have a colonoscopy.  Because of your genetic makeup, you should especially get a screening because your chances of developing an intestinal/colon condition is higher for you.  You may have a mild form of IBD, but that can be treated with medications and diet changes.  Good luck to you

I agree with FurballsMom. Request a colonoscopy.

With that kind of family history, you should certainly get a colonoscopy.  I think it's reasonable if there is a family history and/or you have symptoms to warrant such a test.  Your insurance has to cover it when getting tested is the reasonable thing to do.
