Hello,
I really hope that here I can find some answers and maybe someone else experience could help us.
Two months ago my mom had an endoscopy. The endoscopy and biopsies results were:
Inactive chronic gastritis with complete intestinal metaplasia and glandular atrophy.
Microscopic description: 2 fragments of gastric mucosa, corporeal type presenting in the corion a Chronic Inflammatory Infiltrate limfoplasmocitar type, with the multiphocal presence of the caliciform cells and Paneth in the foveolar and glandular epithelium resulting metaplasic (metaplasia) glandular atrophy.
In the examined sections no presence of HP.
Negative for dysphasia.
She was also diagnosed with Mixed hiatal hernia.
After two months of treatment my mom still has very SEVERE bloating(this was the first symptom that send her to the doctor). Her stomach is always swelled even if she’s eating or not, even if she’s drinking water/tea or not.
This severe bloating is the result of the hernia or to her chronic gastritis?
The gastroenterologist didn’t offer much support, answering all the questions that my mom had , even if she is rated as one of the best specialist in gastroenterology and we have to wait until the next visit to another gastroenterologist.
She tries to respect a very healthy died: nothing fried, no fats, only boiled veggies and only skinless chicken or fish. Her only sin is the coffee, but only one in the morning.
She is always so uncomfortable and fearing the worst.
Any advice , personal experience or any medical advice maybe can help us.
Thank you
Anna
