complications? from surgery

My husband underwent a non laproscopic chole 19 days ago, had every complication known to man to include gi bleed 3 units of blood, ng tube, jaundice, bilateral pneumonia, pulmonary edema.  He is 43 with history of chrones as his only real medical problem.  In the unit for 9 days, hospital for 15.  We went home last friday, he vomitted twice friday night, and started with temp of 101.5 on Saturday, his wbc yesterday was 11.5.  He is gaunt, with chronic nausea and he vomitted a huge amount again last evening, we are both scared to death and almost afraid of returning to the hospital.  He is burping alot, has reflux that appears to be bile, vomit is undigested food about two days old and is horrible smelling.  He is moving his bowels.  I am using zofran.  He had a negative hida in the hospital, along with a neg ct of abd.  He is on only prilosec, what should we be asking and what should we consider as a problem for the vomitting, burping, reflux.  His PIC is out so tpn is not an immediate option.

i to had an open choly and 8 days after discharge started vomiting with a tempreture - i put up with it for a further 2 days (as it was a weekend) before being dragged to the dr. he sent me to hospital imediatly and was horrified i had stayed at home for so long with this. i was told after investigation that it was a paralitic illius which can happen after the surgery. i was kept nil by mouth for 2 days and hydrated with a drip while my system recovered. i was kept a good eye on and had loads of xrays, ultrasounds and examined. after the experience your husband has had it is terrifiing to have to go back in and you imagine all sorts of things - but no matter what the problem is, he needs to be reviewed by the hospital so as the problem can be resolved... at this time hospital is the only way to go.

i hope he gets sorted soon so as he can get on with his recovery.

Take him back!! it could be a bile leak. Let the hospital run tests. If he is running a fever I recomend to take him back.
