I was diagnosed with this over two years ago. I was tested for food allergies - every one possible to be tested for - and I have over 25 food allergies. The healthy foods are what I am most allergic to, but there is no type of food that I am not allergic to. I have had increasing problems and more allergies. The GI says he can re-endoscope me and I can just let him know when, I guess to know the progress etc. of my condition. It has taken me 8 months to get another appointment with my allergist and won't see him until the end of the month. I have been on oral prednisone spray and omeprazole. I take a non-drowsy Claritin type tablet every day.
The stuff I used to have a mild reaction to now have been foods I am very allergic to. My swallowing problems and impaction have come back again. I keep decreasing what I am able to eat. I stay exhausted all the time. I take vitamins and supplements per my doctors. I have to wonder if I am getting enough real nutrition. I am disabled with multiple disabilities. I also have 3 balance disorders, one of which is rare. I understand that can cause a lot of exhaustion also. I have been having more migraines than normal.
I am wondering if I need to go on an enteral formula. My mother-in-law had to go on TPN with her GI scleroderma so I am not so eager to be on a formula, but at this point I don't know what else to do. By the way, she told me that she used to have the same type of problems as I have and she thought I had the same condition she did. I have heard this can progress into scleroderma, lupus, etc. if not treated. Please give me your thoughts on what I am going through and what you would recommend for someone in my position. I realize they would only be suggestions, etc.
