i need help while waiting for my dr appt

For the past week I've been dealing with horrible stomach burning and nausea. It feels like my stomach is on fire and it makes me incredibly nauseous. I've been taking zantac and tums but neither offer me much relief. I feel the worst after eating. But it doesn't matter what I eat...I try eating bland foods like noodle soup, saltines, bananas etc but I still feel awful. I sometimes feel hungry but still nauseated at the same time so I have no desire to eat. I can't see my doc for 2 weeks as that's the soonest I could get an appointment. The pain has been so bad it keeps me awake at night. Any ideas as to what I could possibly do to stop the burning? I'm going crazy...its hard to even leave the house sometimes bc I feel so awful.

It is very annoying. I was diagnosed with acid reflux when I was 18 but it quickly subsided and in 7 years I've only had random bouts of it and they were never severe. However this past week has been awful. Severe nausea after eating and the rest of the symptoms I already listed. Can acid reflux flare up and be worse than its been before? I am a bit stressed...just lost my job last week...so I'm wondering if maybe my stress is making it worse.

Yes, this can all be due to GERD/acid reflux.  Acid reflux can be surprisingly annoying and I hope you find something that works well for you soon.

I haven't taken a zantac today and my burning subsided a bit. I'm still very nauseated and feel like I have something warm and a slight burn in my throat. I got prevacid to start trying to see if that will give me more relief. I also feel as though sometimes I have too much saliva in my mouth. I'm assuming this can all probably be chalked up to acid reflux? Hopefully the prevacid helps.

Sometimes it takes trying different PPI's before you find one that works for you.

I've raised my head at night. I haven't tried prevacid or prilosec. My doc prescribed me zantac in august so I've continued using it. I may try one of those to see if I get any relief because the zantac really isn't working.

A couple things to try are: elevating the head of your bed, eating little bits all throughout the day (sometimes this helps with the burning), and trying prevacid or prilosec instead of zantac.
