I had my g/b removed two months ago. Went back to the doctor 1 week later for severe stomach pains. I had a cat scan done which revealed a surgical clip in my pelvis. I am under the assumption that 4 clips are used. My cat scan shows two in the upper quadrent and one in my pelvis - I wonder where is the other one. There is such thing as dropped surgical clip during surgery or floating clips. I underwent another surgery. I came out of that one feeling like I should have after the first one. They say the clips are not dangerous but I would bet that if I went for a scan now you probably wouldnt see the clip in my pelvis anymore. I bet during the second operation that the doctor removed that clip because there was no more severe pain. I now only experience the minor pain from surgery. They try to act like it is nothing but  believe me I know differently. Your husband has been going through this for 8 days - My poor husband had been going through this for two months. Assure him you will eventually be back to normal. I am still not but slowly getting there.

Have you called your surgeon about this?? Are you taking any digestive enzymes with your meals?
It does take time for the body to adjust to not having the gallbladder any longer. I am 6 days post op and now having very loose stools. I know this is a side affect for a little while.
I do not however have the nausea any longer.
Stomach pains....throwing up....etc could be signs of infection maybe....call your surgeon!
