I had my gallbladder out 32 years ago a major surgery back then. About 8 or 9 years ago I started experiencing the same type of pain everyone else here is describing. It is under my right ribcage sometimes it radiates to my lower back and also across my middle/ upper back. Sometimes it feels like a big air bubble in my side floating around. This is also accompanied by constipation. In 2008.I had every kind of test and scan imaginable the only thing that showed up was a slightly dilated bile duct. (No one ever said why.or how it was dilated or what that meant) Anyway after about a year of constant pain it just went away. Never had any type of diagnosis from any Dr., and I saw many.
Now 9 years later here i am again same thing going on. At first the pain came and went. It was just an uncomfortable kind of dull pain. The past month or so it hasn't stopped for two weeks I could do nothing but lay flat on my back. When it first started up again about 8 months or so ago I went to the Dr. Ive had blood work done 3 or 4 times Urine tests done been checked for Hep C Uti, kidney stones, Ect.. an ultra sound and a cat scan, Nothing! The only thing that showes up is that same slightly dilated bile duct. The pain has eased up some, so I can get up and do stuff, but its there and more then just uncomfortable a lot of the time. for the past 3 weeks I have had to take a laxative. That does helps relieve some pressure and pain but t doesn't go away by any means..
One Dr said it felt like my liver was swollen but that didnt show on the ultra sound so I have to say it isn't.. I guess. It feels like a bruised rib and when i lean forward it feels like a broken rib stabbing through my insides
Ive got another appt. with a different Dr. so hopefully Ill get some new kinds of tests done and get it figured out or maybe it will just go away like it did before.
