upper abdominal discomfort

hi
for the last five years i have suffered from a raw feeling in my upper abdomen along with nausea.
three years ago after an endoscopy i was diagnosed with mild gastritis and perscribed lansaprozole.
since theni have had two further endoscopies and have been told that the inflammation has virtually gone but the pain is still as bad. if i drink any alcohol at all then i feel very nauseas for 5 or 6 days and the discomfort is a lot worse.
my appetite is fine and my bowels are fine. i have also had a manometry pull through test and a scan plus blood tests and biopsies and all were fine. my diet is healthy and my alcohol intake is virtually nothing.
i have always been a moderate social drinker and have only drunk heavily on a few occasions and not for a prolonged period.
when sleeping i find it difficult to lie face down as the discomfort worsens also when bending down to tie shoelaces etc. the doctors have said that all i can do is take the medication and watch my diet but neither of these makes any difference. i am now at the point that i cant face going out for meals or taking a holiday as the discomfort is not worth it.. i have noticed similar sufferers on your forum and wonder if you can offer any help or suggestions
many thanks

Sorry to hear you have been suffering for so long. I am not a doctor, so I can only offer you my own experience and research. Have you had your gallbladder tested for stones? Have you have a CT scan of your pancreas? A HIDA scan may also be something to consider. This test will look at the level at which your gall bladder is functioning. An ultra sound can look check for gallstones which cause a lot of pain. I have been experiencing similar symptoms for 5-6 months but have been in the ER twice, 10 years ago for similar pain that tests can't figure out. If you have seen any of my other posts, I am now considering having my gallbladder removed w/o conclusive test results in hopes that the pain will stop. Google gallbladder symptoms, or ask your doc and go from there. Good luck!
