Can bad technique stunt height growth when lifting weights

Hey there,

I'm just curious whether bad technique at the gym stunt growth or not. It lasted for a whole year or so until someone told me I was doing several exercises wrong. This includes both gym machines and exercises with regard to lifting weights.
I'm 17 years old male, almost 18, from the UK and my current height is 165 cm (5'4/5'5). Parents height is 178 cm (5'10) and 163 cm (5'4-ish) for my dad and mom respectively.

There is a formula that they use to predict height.  It combines your dad and mom's height.  You add the inches of your dad to the inches of your mom, divide by 2 and for a boy, add 3 inches and that is a good guess.  Typically you will be within 2 inches up and down from that.

When did you go through puberty?  How old were you?  That also can be a predictor when someone will stop growing.

Weight lifting incorrectly can hurt your back. :>)  But it doesn't really stunt your growth.  It could 'damage' your growth plates.  Ask your doctor about this.
