Left inguinal lump with pain

I am a 32 year old female and I didn't notice any pain when I woke up this morning. Around 8pm I started feeling some pain whenever one of my kids climbed on me. It is in my left inguinal/groin area. There is a lump under the skin about 1' in diameter. It is very tender to the touch and hurts when I walk. Is this something I need to have checked out?

Does the pain go away when laying down? If it does you most likely have a hernia, but you must go to your doctor and don't be slow about it. You may also want your doc to run a blood test to see if everything else is in order, too. Good luck and don't be picking up your children for a bit. Take care.

Sounds like you may have a hernia. Definitely need to get it checked out.
