Rib catching? on bending, painful, bit scary & need answers please

I'm sorry, I've no idea where this question should really go as I'm at a loss as to what the likely cause is, & my GP so far just shrugs it off, understandably as it is a weird one, but  I feel I need to be able to explain it better, or have some idea of what could be the cause, in order to get her to take more notice & finally get some help,
so any ideas, or advice on the best place to post the following much appreciated :)

I do have other health problems, (Migraine syndrome,FM, M.E.Sinus disease, etc) but I feel this is completely unrelated, Okay, here goes, I hope this makes sense.....

I have a strange & painful phenomena, it only happens certain ways I move, twist, bend......happened yesterday when trying to excersize & stretch my calf/leg/back muscles by touching my toes,....... a few days before whilst twisting to try & look at the sole of my foot (cut) .........earlier twisting to wash myself whilst in the bath, often with yoga or ecersize, sometimes even just getting up from a lying position.

its on my left side only, bottom ribs, sort of over my heart, & litteraly feels as if my ribs have just hooked onto something, it is excrutiatingly painful in a sickening, punched in the stomach sort of way ( & I am used to pain & luckily have a high tolerance) it leaves me panting for breath, unable to straighten, & yesterday I noticed that the pad of flesh, or muscle over my left low ribs was all bunched up & raised in a ridge along the ribs, & it was litteraly beating like a heart....it usually takes my doing deep breathing excersizes & panting as if giving birth to get it to subside, which can take 10 minutes or so, & leaves me feeling sore & nauseous for a long while afterwards.

I've been dealing with this over 7 years now, & it all started after the birth of my Daughter  (long natural labour) , it is less frequent now than it was, but I think that is because over time, I have come to automatically avoid the sort of movement that triggers it, though now yoga & certain excersize is making me realise I need to get an answer

Thank you

Any back pain with it? It almost sounds like a very strong muscle spasm.  I've had spasm that will actually pull my rib and that can be very painful.  Moving a certain way or over exertion used to cause it.   My old job required me to work and move in awkward postions that would flare it up.  Maybe a chiropractor could help.  Good luck!!!

Thank you, but thats not so easy here in the UK,

& from experience I know she could be a lot worse, at least she believes in the FM & M.E diagnosis, many over here still don't, but on the down side she tends to blame FM & M.E for everything, so unless I can go to her with ideas on what the possible cause is, its very hard to get a refferal for any tests..........also I'm probably in part to blame, as have a lot of other more frequent things to deal with, & limited appointment time means I haven't made as much fuss as I obviously need to

over here she can't just send me for specific tests, I have to be seen by a specialist in order for that to happen, so  I'm really hoping someone on here can point me in the right direction for the right type of specialist

thanks

If your GP isn't interested in helping you, you probably should go elsewhere.

I would recommend getting imaging of your chest/thorax, i.e. CT with oral and/or IV contrast.
