Studying while soaking my feet?

I am in my last year in Bachelor of Pharmacy and it’s nerve-wracking. During major exams, I used to soak my feet while studying. A foreign classmate of mine advised me to do this. My mom saw me one time and scolded me for soaking my feet. According to her, it can make me go crazy. My aunts and some of my friends told me the same thing. I don’t understand why. It can actually help me study better. When I looked for answers over the internet, it says that soaking your feet with water can help you relax and can be a good reflexology too, especially when you use warm water. I told my mom about this and she insisted. She started mentioning names of persons who got crazy because of soaking feet while studying and now I’m really confused.

I'm not aware of soaking feet while studying making a person go crazy- I'd venture to guess that it's one of those things that has been passed down from a few generations and "proven" by someone they know that just happened to have some mental issues and soaked their feet.  I personally wouldn't worry about it!
