Tightness in wrist on top

For the past few days, I have been having a tightness or spasm on the top of my wrist. It hasn't been painful until today. I've never had this issue before. The tightness only lasts for a few seconds but it happens every few minutes and it's all day. Does anyone know what this could be?

This sounds like a muscle spasm from how you're describing the pain (intermittent, yet occurs all day). What do you mean the "top" of your wrist? Do you mean opposite your palm (this is called the dorsum of your wrist)? There are several tendons which insert at this point, which could be causing your problem.

Yes, it's opposite my palm. It isn't painful when it happens but it makes it difficult to move my wrist during the spasm.
The "spasms" are muscle spasms? Do you get these anywhere else in the body?

And the wrist only started hurting today. Do you play sports?
It's only in my wrist. I'm not sure if they are actually spams, that's just what I'm assuming. They started on Tuesday and they haven't stopped. I don't play any sports nor have I changed any of my activities during the past week. The only strenuous activity my wrist goes through is typing, but I have been doing that for years.
I've been doing a little bit of research and found that it may be wrist tendinitis.
That’s a definite possibility!!! Try 600 mg  ibuprofen a couple times a day, a wrist brace, and RICEing it.
