Ankle Injury

Had a folding table fall on the side of my ankle. Irradiating shocking pain when it first happened throughout the body and the ankle is still in pain now, I put some ice on it. Will this heal up? Why did my body feel like it was in shocking pain?

Appreciate the reply, I'll get it checked out. Any idea why it might have caused the shocking pain throughout the body though? Is this normal? I do have a case of neck stenosis so I was hoping it didn't irritate it.. or might be the cause of the shocking pain.

Hello!

This injury could be as simple as a bruise or as complex as a fractured or broken bone. This likely requires an examination and x-ray from a general practitioner. In the interim, continue with ice treatment, especially if the ankle swells. For the first 48 to 72 hours, apply ice packs for 10 to 20 minutes every 2 hours during the day. Rest the ankle and keep it elevated as much as possible.

I hope you feel better soon!
