The 50,000 IU vitamin D3 supplement is issued to non-compliant patients with low-blood levels of D3, and is supposed to be taken once a week. Anything is possible, but it is unlikely the dose had anything to do with your cardiac irregularities or high blood pressure.
Hi there,
Stress, anxiety, medications, and salt consumption can cause sudden rise in blood pressure. Vitamin D does not raise blood pressure. It suppresses rennin a substance produced by the kidneys that results in fluid retention and arterial vasoconstriction and rise in blood pressure. It is advisable to take vitamin D only under a doctor's supervision. Take low salt diet and stay away from stress. Exercise daily for 20-30 minutes. If the rise in blood pressure continues consult your doctor. Do keep me posted.
Best wishes and take care!
