What kind of beast am I dealing with here?

(I know this isn't the best place to post this, but it was the best I could think of considering I don't even know what area my affliction is related to)

Starting around 5 days ago, I have been experiencing really bizarre chest pain. It doesn't really affect my regular activities. At night, though, when I'm trying to sleep, the pain becomes a lot more significant. I don't know if this is related to me lying down (It hurts to lie on either side, particularly my right side. Lying on my back is fine) or having had eaten 2-3 hours before. At night, the pain is pretty much everywhere. From my belly button up, I'm really tender, and pressing down on my stomach causes slight discomfort. During the day though, I usually only feel the pain after eating a meal (moderate pain)

Looking at these symptoms and pairing them with the gas I've been experiencing lately, I figured I might be dealing with GERD. However, I wouldn't describe the pain as burning. It's more of a feeling of pressure and a stabbing feeling when I lie down. I also don't experience the vomiting or burning at my throat. The pain never really spreads anywhere aside from torso, so I think it's safe to rule out heart.

I'm just sort of confused and I want to know what I'm talking about before I start talking with doctors in a couple of days (no reason to pay for examinations I don't need). I'm a 16 year old girl of average weight and height. I get a relatively balanced diet, regular physical activity. No known allergies, the only blemish in my medical history is that my mother has diabetes. I'm kind of stressed out due to school lately, and I've also only been getting like 4-5 hours of sleep a night. I was really really stressed out the night when I first noticed by chest pains, but I'm much calmer now and I still feel the pain.

Could be stress related or Gallbladder or Pancreas issues, although you are quite young. Hope you find your answer. :-)

If you have ever taken antibiotics, you probably need to take acidolphilus or eat some good yogurt that contains the live bacteria.

Do you feel the pain only when you lie down or all the time? If only when you lie down it may be GERD. I have that off and on I get sharp stabbing pain in my chest when I lay down. I have to get up and take Gas X. I know it sounds funny but it hurts terribly. I had an upper GI done and I do have GERD in the upper area so I don't get reflux. I some times get pain in my abdomen too. So it is possible you have this. But it could be something else such as your appendix that is radiating to the middle. I have had the gas pains or what is really GERD that comes out as gas pains since I was your age. So I'm leaning towards that. So, you can try that and see if it helps. Also, I take Zantac OTC. If your parents agree for you to try it then maybe that would be a good thing to try. I would never take anything without asking them, ok? You never know that some simple things may be harmful to teens or people under 18.  They may want to do an upper GI or gastroscopy. The upper GI was nothing. You drink some fizzy stuff and they take Xrays. At least that was how mine was.  It is possible that it could be something else like an ulcer or other problem. It is best to get it checked out with your doctor since it is persisting.
