Thin Blood - How do I fix this?

I have noticed that lately I have been bleeding more that usual. For example, earlier I had a scab and picked it off and instead of a small drop of blood I ended up with a 5 inch stream of blood. What may be the cause of this and how do I stop it? I would like to add that it isn't bad enough that if I were to be pricked by a needle I would begin to bleed, but if I were to get a small cut on my thumb it would be dripping blood in a few seconds.

You need a consult with a hematologist. They will subject you to a number of inexpensive blood tests that will determine the clotting rate, and recommend a protocol to treat the problem. This should be a priority. Problems result when you may fall and strike your head, causing an internal bleed that will go out of control. "Thining" is not an appropriate term. The blood is not thinned. Thinning refers to the ratio of fluids to blood cells. The problem is in the coagulation of the blood.

Hi there
If you are worried about your blood being to thin I would notify your general practitioner and he/she can send you for a blood test. Some OTC meds can thin your blood so make sure you read the label on all meds you take.  Some medicines have blood thinning components in them.  I hope you are able to get this cleared up real soon.
