Hello,
I first noticed this issue with my ribcage in December around the same time I was dx with a dowagers hump, mild adult onset scoliosis in thoracic spine, and osteoarthritis in both of my ac joints (I am 24), so I have been having a rheumatology work up currently. I asked the orthopedic about it who barely touched my ribs and set it was my "rib cage twisting outwards from the scoliosis" so I left it at that and kind of forgot about it. A few nights ago I was laying on my stomach with my weight on that ribcage and I noticed that it was fairly uncomfortable and was hurting, so that next morning I looked in the mirror at my rib and there is now a pointyish looking lump that was never there before. If I suck in and pull my skin up, the lump kind of pops out, and when I bend sideways you can see a slight lump. I called my orthopedic on Friday and explained the situation and asked if he can see me for this issue and he told me to come in on Monday. Does anyone have any idea what this could be? A lot of the spine issues were also misdiagnosed a few times (doctors were telling me that it was my normal anatomy, even though I was telling them that this is a new problem) I have lost a bit of weight since May (which had the rheumatoid doctor worried) but that was a gradual loss (150 pounds to 128 pounds) however, in the past week I have suddenly lost 3 pounds without doing anything different. I also recently had surgery on January 25th for a constricted parotid duct, but the surgery did not work as expected so I am waiting to hear my surgeons thoughts. I will try to upload pictures to Imgur, however, it's hard to capture what it truly looks like.
