painful ankle help?

I fractured my ankle and fibula 6 months ago, they were not big fracturs just small cracks, i had my leg in cast for 4 weeks but still have occasional pain. my problem is while walking 2 days ago my leg gave way and it felt like my ankle twisted a little now i'm getting pain in my ankle and up my leg it eases occasionally but then within 10-20 mins the pain is back again and sometimes feels like its burning, i can walk on it but it is painful i have taken pain killers but they do not seem to be helping, any ideas please.

I would consider going back to your doctor and explaining to them what exactly happened first off!! Also I'M SURE YOUR DOCTOR TOLD YOU TO NOT WALK ON IT AT ALL AND TO USE CRUTCHES??? Sorry about the caps, anyone concidering you could of done more damage to it, i would really recommend you go right back to your orthopedics, you may need a tighter re-cast aswell! Good luck

Hi Tilly, you might have inflamed the fracture again and twisting the ankle can be painful for quite some time. I would go back to the doctor for another xray to make sure all is ok.
