WHY??? I need help...

My 23 yo son who lived with his father and step-mom in south carolina (I am in missouri), on sunday afternoon, the 14th fatally stabbed his uncle, non-fatally shot his father and step-brother, then turned the gun on himself.  The last few contacts I have seen/had with him were ALL fine, doing okay, all is well.  Now THIS.  What makes a perfectly sane person do this???

dear girl- i do not believe people are sane when they do that kind of thing... perhaps he was in so much pain, he just collapsed. or maybe he ate something or inhaled something that clouded his mind. certain kinds of  mold can be very poisonous. anyway i pray for your heart and that sanity remains for you during this hard time.
take real good care of your self right now.....

You have my greatest sympathy.  Take time to grieve.  Please see a therapist if at all possible.  Hold close to whomever is in your family where you live. Our community will be here for you in the days to come, whenever you feel like posting.

Dear one.  There is never a satisfactory answer to your question.  An awful thing has happened.  You are in shock just now.  I have experienced a similar sudden violent family situation.  One of my sons died, another carries physical and mental wounds.  His father serves a life sentence in a Florida prison.  Three years have passed.  Time helps.  If you want to talk to me ...I usually check in every other day.
