Condom Broke in Patong Thailand - Scared ********
Hi, I am hoping there may be a medical professional out there who may be able to give me some statistics / peace of mind on the the chances that I have caught HIV from a condom break when sleeping with a BG in Patong. I was a drunk idiot and the vaginal sexual intercourse only went for about 5 minutes. I don't know when the condom broke nor how much of my penis was uncovered and in contact with the inside of the BG vagina. Once I noticed it though, I washed my penis immediately in a warm shower and did not resume intercourse again with the BG.The follwoing day after a sleepless night, I examined my penis and there were no cuts or abrasions at all. I am really ******** myself and would like to know what the chances are that HIV infection could have occured?

The chances of HIV infection in your case here are relatively low, and that is assuming that the other person was positive. It would be estimated in less than 0.1% or less than 1 in 1,000. My advice to you is not to worry too much about it and get tested after at least 4 weeks with a HIV Duo test. I am very confident that this will be negative.

I presume you are still in thailand... If so the first thing I would say is dont worry about it- easier said than done but I was i am in the exact same situation (as of approx 11 days) - and it ruined a few days of my trip thinking about it until i talked to people and did some research.... First off, the chances of you contracting HIV from a HIV+ girl from having vaginal intercourse are 2/1000. That is if she is HIV+!!! Also, was it from a GO-GO bar or a girl from the street? if a bar or massage parlour then the majority of them get tested on a monthly basis, or at least on a 3 month basis!!
What I would do is go to the chemist/pharmacy and buy 6 tabs of AZITHRO (comes in various name types - think it is 250mg) and take 4 tabs at once then 2 the next day... that will clear most STD's.. This is what I did (i didnt have any sympthoms). To be extra safe, i then took 2 tabs of doxycycline for the proceeding 7 days (also kills STDs). This should clear most STDs with a very high percentage probability.
In terms of HIV, well obvioursly there is no cure for this but the chances of you catching this are very low. I actually took the girl I had sex with to the hospital to get checked- paid for the test and then paid her 500baht extra to come (thankfully all negative). But even this does not rule out the chance of me or her having HIV (as sympthoms sometimes dont show up until 13 weeks - its a waiting game) but try not to worry about it
Put it this way (in terms of the best betting odds available)
- in the english premiership arsenal are a 2/60 chance to win the premiership this season (best price).
- in the world cup 2014, belgium are 2/88 chance to win
- in the world cup 2014, scotland are 2/400 chance to win
- in the world cup 2014, australia are 2/240 chance to win
I can say with almost certainty that none of these will happen - and we have worse chances - 2/1000, so chances are you dont have anything- try not to think about it

Really appreciate that post. Whilst I'm sorry to hear that someone else is in the same boat as me, it's nice to know I'm not the only one out there. I took a girl home from a GO Go Bar - thankfully not off the street but still stupid. My biggest problem was the condom was too small - I don't know of any guy that could be the size that thing was - anyway ... only in Asia I guess + booze = stupid decisions :)
