5 MONTH AFTER POTENTIAL EXPOSURE

Hi

First and foremost please accept my apology for my poor English.

I am a male, 31 years old living in Malaysia. The incident happened to me around 5 month before was very strange and very hilarious. It was about late May that I went to a massage parlor (Safe and licensed one) to get massaged. The guy who massaged me at the end started trying to perform oral sex on me which I didn't expect such thing at all from a licensed massage center Masseur. after a few second (15-20 sec) I could stop him. since Adrenaline hormone shot up in my blood stream due to very extreme panic attack I couldn't make him stop sooner than that. I talked to the Massage center director and they gave me back my money and sent that person to get fully tested for all STDs (I attended on the session that screening test performed). I personally got his result and he was negative (test done one week after exposure on him only). The Doctor also told me by receiving oral sex you can't get HIV but I hadn't been convinced) However I could ease my mind for 2 month since I have seen his result and then my mind tried to make me crazy than ever before. I was worried that if he had been in window period or something. So I got tested at the end of 4th month (120 days). The test description sounds like this:

HIV I/II ab (EIA Method) = NON-REACTIVE (It wasn't a rapid test and result would be ready after a few days)

The other STD's were also Negative. I heard that only 3rd and 4th generation tests are reliable after 3-4 month post exposure. Is that true?? So can we conclude that The old generation window period is still 6 month??

I don't know what kind of generations of tests are going to be used in Malaysia? I got tested in BP Laboratory.

Should I get re-tested?? Actually I'm planning to get tested after a full 6 month passes (one month later) for the utmost safety. Do you think Is this a wise decision??

Thank you for your support and assistance

Hi, no testing needed as you were not at risk for contracting HIV. The doctor was correct as its not transmitted that way.

Thank you guys for your feedback. However I've seen in some other websites such as AIDSVANCOUVER Canada that Receiving oral sex is considered a negligible risk but not ZERO RISK. Still they claim that there is no documented cases which has been infected by this way. Thanks again

The doctor was right, you were never exposed to HIV from oral sex. You never required a test because your exposure was non existent, therefore you will always get a negative test, irrespective of the time passed
