I found this article about condoms breakage which seems to indicate that the condom would break and rupture.
Abstract
BackgroundPublished condom breakage studies typically report the percentage of failures but rarely provide any evidence on the mechanism of failure.
MethodsOver a period of 7 years, broken condoms returned to a supplier (SSL, Durex™) via consumer complaints were examined to determine the cause of failure. Also, some consumers who reported breakage but did not return condoms were sent a questionnaire on the causes of breakage. Finally, theories proposed for the mechanism of breakage were investigated on a laboratory coital model.
ResultsNearly 1000 (n=972) returned condoms made from natural rubber and polyurethane were examined. Visible features on those that were broken, were classified. Evidence combined from examining returns, questionnaire responses and the coital model strongly suggests a single predominant mechanism of failure we named “blunt puncture,” where the tip of the thrusting male penis progressively stretches one part of the intact condom wall until it ultimately breaks.
ConclusionsBlunt puncture appears to be the mechanism of breakage responsible for more than 90% of condom breakage not attributable to misuse. Knowledge of the main mechanism of breakage should help develop better user instructions, better test methods and, ultimately, better condoms.
stormaster - i am in the same boat as you....was drunk off my head and did the deed with a cw, didnt check the 1st condom and heard a noise whilst i was doing it.
I think both of us are ashamed and guilty about what we did.
I'd fire him too i could. I''ve been stressed for 4 weeks now because of what my doc told me.
I'm may be responsible for my health, but these past month, i've been much more concerned by my girlfriend's health.Didn't wanted her to pay for my mistakes.
I'm much more confident now, thanks to all of you.
i'd FIRE that doctor...lol. you did NOT have a "risky" behaviour...at all. you had condom protected sex...more than i can say for alot of ppl here. kudos to you on being responsible for your health.
I really appreciate your answers and nobody can explain things as you guys do. Its clear and simple to undestand. Because my doctor told me to wait three months for a test because my behaviour was risky and told me to have protected relations with my girl during this period.
I hope you are right about the origins of my anxiety... It was the first time i was doing this kind of thing and am asking myself why.. any way, i have to deal with my conscience.
lots lots of thanks....
your anxiety is coming from the guilt of cheating...not hiv.
how does it look? well...let's see...lolol. take a banana and imagine the yellow part is the condom. peel it back...all around...at least half way down. this is kind of what a ruptured condom would look like on "sir willie". there are NO DOUBTS about a ruptured condom. if the condom was covering the head of your penis...you were protected...no risk.
Thanks for your answer too, i was just wondering how it looks like when its broken.I'll buy one as aak001 said. I'm so so scared of contaminating my girlfriend (i allready cheated on her so i don't have the right to harm her more than that)
thanks again
Your explanation is really clear. I was asking because i've never seen a broken condom.
In my case, even though i was drunk, i still remember when i took it off and it seemed intact.
Thanks a lot for this information aak001
if it had ruptured...there basically wouldnt have been a condom to look at. if you SAW a condom...then it did not fail. a ruptured condom looks like a frayed hoola hoop around your penis with the head of "sir willie" being exposed.
you are fine...relax :) no hiv concern for you.
buy a condom and try to tair it it snaps its a very distinctive noise its not something you hear everyday thats first and then you would have felt the breackage when you have removed the condom becuase it would have be on the base of your penis only.
Teak, last question and then you won't hear from me. You told me that if the condom had fail, i'd have know without any doubt. As i was drunk, how can i know if it was intact.
Do you feel something when it fails, or do you see something specific... my question might be stupid but i justed wanted to know.
Thanks
Thanks for your answers. I'm a bit calm now about my risk. Thanks also for helping people here on this forum, i admire what you do here.
No you don't need testing. If you are sexually active, you should get a sexual health check up at least once a year. That includes and HIV and STD panel.
Thanks for your answer Teak, as i said, i was drunk and didn't checked perfectly if the codom was still OK. The only thng i'm sure its that it was still on my penis at the end of the intercourse. Do i have to get tested still ? Sorry to bother you with this, its just that i'm really worried ...tnahk again
If the condom had fail you would have know without a doubt. NO RISK.
