Accuracy of 2nd Gen Clearview HIV 1/2 Test at 6 Weeks?

Ok,

so I got tested today in Los Angeles 6 weeks after my potential exposure. I just assumed this rapid test was at least a 3rd generation. It is called the Clearview Complete HIV test 1/2 and was a finger prick. Well I looked it up on the CDC website is a 2nd gen test? Great, I had no idea. I read that 3rd gen aniibody test give 95-99% accuracy at this timeframe.

Now I gotta wonder, how does a 2nd gen test compare? I am just shocked that this free testing place was using a 2nd gen. I figured nobody still used those. Could it be a 3rd gen test possibly and I saw outdated information on the CDC website?

I really do think I had a risk. But that's up for debate I know. I just called the company again and another woman confirmed this was a 2nd gen test I took.

I just figured nobody was using 2nd gen test in the usa still. So does anyone know how a 2nd gen test compares to a 3rd gen?

Then go get tested elsewhere.  There's no way we can say what kind of test the clinic used.

Call where you tested, it's that simple.

No test in America is a 2nd Gen.

I cannot seem to find any information about the generation of the test I took. I wish I could figure this out.

Being raped is not like someone drawing on your face.

How can we tell you what test THEY gave you?

Why irrational because no matter how drunk you are you would wake up from someone undressing you and taking a penis and forcing it into your anus.

Why? If I was too drunk I would not wake up during it it could have happened. I never had anus deep pain before....lasted 3 days. Anyone know about this test?

Call and ask them.

And yes I concur it is irrational.

Its not irrational. I drank a lot and slept at youth hostel with strangers. I could of blacked out...my anus was sore for days. Very odd.

Can someone tell me if this was a 2nd or 3rd gen test? Thx

Irrational fear.

You don't need testing.

If you were raped you would know it. Just being sore would not be a sign you would also be bleeding.

It was a possible anal rape when I was drunk one night. I woke up with a very sore anus. Do you know if this is a second or 3rd generation test? Thanks

What was your perceived risk?

Maybe this is actually a 3rd generation test? I got tested at "Out of the closet" on sunset blvd. Seems like here in LA they would not still be using a 2nd generation test. It doesn't say what generation the test is on the paper work I got or the website for the test.

I read also that all rapid test now are 3rd generation or 4th. Is that true or could they still be using a 2nd generation rapid test?
