Hello,
I'm a 23 year old, heterosexual male. This past Sunday (12/15), I engaged in unprotected vaginal sex with a complete stranger I met while out with my friends. It was a massive mistake that I will never make again. She says she has had three other partners and had unprotected sex with one of the three. She has never been tested.
My mind has been racing since. On Monday (12/16) my left testicle developed a constant dull pain. On Wednesday I woke up with flu like symptoms: sore throat, headache, stuffed up nose, and swollen lymph nodes in my neck and groin. I went to urgent care on Wednesday night where the doctor believed I could possibly have chlamydia and gave me a crushed dose of azythromicin. My sore throat has gone away, but all other symptoms still remain the same as they were on Wednesday. They took urine and blood samples to test for STDs and HIV, but I believe these won't show anything as the sex was only three days prior and it seems you need there weeks and three months, respectively, to get accurate results.
Now, after searching the web, i have freaked myself out. Every symptom seems to point to acute HIV and I can't get that out of my head. Is it too early for acute HIV symptoms to appear? When is the earliest I can really get accurate HIV testing? What do you think these symptoms mean?
Need to stay sane,
C
