No group of people are HIGH RISK, it's the actions you take when having sex that makes your risk high or low.
Thank you Teak for your quick response! I have read hundreds posts and comments regarding "giving unprotected oral sex with person of unknown HIV status". I truely believe you Teak and what others have stated, but other websites suggest... pre-seamen can be infectious during unprotected oral and Transsexuals are more at risk for passing on HIV. I will take to heart what you and the other experts have told me. I guess I should stop reading these posts? Thank you again!
You never had an exposure. HIV is not transmitted by oral sex. You don't need an HIV test.
Sorry to bother you all, but my anxiety and stress is starting to get the better of me. Its been over 3 weeks since my unthinkable and stupid act of giving unprotected oral fellatio to a transexual for about 10 to 15 seconds. If I was (hypothetically) to seroconvert for HIV... when would this occur? I know based on reading your comments, symptoms is not a reliable factor with determining seroconverstion for HIV. I haven't experienced any symptoms of (fever, rash, swollen lymph glands) as of yet? Regardless, I'm going to purchase a home access HIV test at 4 weeks. Is this reliable after 4 weeks? I'm still going to take another HIV test at my 3 month mark for piece of mind. Based on your expertise, should I just move on? Thank you for all your support and guidance!
What makes us so sure? Several studies conducted on couples where one partner is positive and the other is negative and NO reported or docummented cases of transmission via oral sex. Many Hiv experts would agree that oral sex is a zero risk activity for Hiv transmission.
Thank you Lizzie Lou... You are a blessing! My mind is at ease. I have read many posts from other internet experts regarding "unprotected Oral sex (Giver) and HIV transmission". Based on your answer "giving or receiving...hiv is not transmitted through oral sex", what makes you so sure?
giving or receiving...hiv is not transmitted through oral sex
Thank you for explaining that HIV transmission can't happen via oral sex. You mentioned different proteins and enzymes which make transmission of HIV inactive during oral sex... Is this also specific for the person giving oral sex with the possibility of exposure to pre-seamen?
hiv is not transmitted through oral sex.
there are over a dozen different proteins and enzymes in the mouth that render hiv inactive and unable to infect.
LIZZIE LOU... thank you for the response! Last question, after reading many posts I know there is no chance of contacting HIV by kissing, but unprotected oral sex for the person giving it even without ejaculation? With the slightest chance of pre-seamen, isn't that cause for getting tested?
nothing that you've described put you at risk for contracting hiv
