Hi,
I recently gave unprotected oral to a male for no longer than 1 minute (8 days ago)., there was no ejaculation This person is very promiscuous and I do not know their status. I just had a few questions:
I'm under the impression of the following:
1. Saliva inhibits the transmission of HIV / HIV doesn't survive outside the body on a penis in air, thus even pre-cum would not pose a risk as it would've been OUTSIDE the body?
2. The cells required to transmit/infect HIV are not found in the mouth/throat.
3. Through researching - I found that there have only been a 'few' proven cases of transmission via giving oral sex and only one without ejaculation present? (PubMED) - Is this true, or are there no documented cases?
4. I have developed a small canker sore in my cheek - I'm under the impression that canker sores are NOT a symptom of ARS, and only likely in late stage HIV (Post from Dr. on MedHELP)
5. I went to the hospital and was told that this is not a risk for HIV. CDC, etc says extremely 'low' - is this more of a CYA thing?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
