He was saying that if you were a chemotherapy patient,a transplant patient on meds or a chronic iv drug user then it may take longer to produce detectable antibodies. This does not apply to you,so you test result is conclusive.
for the delayed detection of anti bodies...

Your negative test result is 100% conclusive. You don,t have hiv and you need to forget all about this and get on with life. All the best.
1. it means that my hiv test result @ 13 weeks , is very very conclusive and will not change..... I am a true hiv negative... is that right
2. and any symptoms i have now will rule out with my negative result....
3. but im confuse with ricky quote heavy IV drug user, and meds post transplant... what is that?
thanx everyone...
thanx ricky and hope242.....
The Multispot test is a single-use rapid test that detects and differentiates circulating antibodies to HIV types 1 and 2 in fresh or frozen human serum and plasma. It has been approved by FDA to differentiate HIV-1 from HIV-2 antibodies.
As long as you don't have the conditions Ricky mentioned, your result will remain negative from that exposure, you don't need to continue testing. You don't have HIV
Only if the tested is either on chemotherapy, on meds post-transplant and/or a heavy IV drug user could that be possible.
have u ever seen a case that test @ 12 weeks with hiv rapid test with negative result.... became positive @ 6 months.... thanx
it was hiv 1/2 multi rapid antibody .... and im from the philippines Hope242.... is that test approved...
Here in the US the CDC updated the conclusive window period to 3 months post exposure back in 2004. So the 6 month window period is outdated. The FDA as well as the test manufactures say 3 months for a conclusive result. I'm not sure what test you took, but I'm sure that the clinic would have an approved test. You can trust your result.
thanx for your response hope242,.... here in the philippines testing clinic and laboratory says that 6 months is a conclusive test... why still using this guidelines... or its just the testing equipments?
Yes your test is accurate, reliable and conclusive. You don't have HIV
