HIV Test and Drugs

Hello,

My mind refuses to let this go.

So I apologize again.

If anybody can conclusively answer this.........PLEASE DO......

I took one tablet of Nitazoxanide - Nizonide 500 - which according to the manufacturer  "is used to treat diarrhea due to certain intestinal parasitic infections (i.e., Cryptosporidium parvum and Giardia lamblia) ".

THE MEDICATION IS AN  "antiprotozoal compound" - that was prescribed by my Doctor to treat my Cryptosporidium parasitic infection.

- I took one dose of this tablet on Friday Night - One more tablet on Saturday morning. And my tests were carried out about 3-4 hours later.

-ELISA HIV 1 & 2.
- ELISA HCV

- Will my medication have affected the test results?

- All tests came out Negative. Any need to re-test in couple of weeks or should I let this go and see a psychiatrist.

Okay I read a bunch of other posts on Drug use and HIV testing. I guess my minute dose of Nitazoxanide is not going to affect my ELISA test.

Thanks for your time Teak. maybe i can finally get some good sleep tonight.

BTW, I used to live in OH.

Have a good day!

sorry for the post but I don't believe that my question was answered in the first place.

I just want to know whether the drug I was taking could have resulted in a false negative ELISA HIV test.
