help on blood draw

I recently underwent a blood test at a reputed lab and during the test, the nurse took out a new syringe packet, but someone called her and she left and when she came back,i faintly remember having seen her throwing a syringe cover, but did not see if she opened the packet and the cover was the same she threw.Shen the cleaned the veni puncture site with cotton and she took the syringe and i was so sacred that i do not remember blood being withdrawn and before i realized, she placed a cotton ball at the punctured site and this is when i saw she was not wearing gloves on her left hand and only the right glove was worn. She removed the syringe and then again cleaned the site with tissue and then put a band aid.

Exactly 5 days after blood draw,a lymph node in my neck was swollen and 2 days later i had irritation in my throat and cough with mild fever which lasted for 5 days although i had mild fever for just one day. After those 5 days the lymph node swelling has reduced.

Though i have examined myself,i did not visualize any other swelling of lymph nodes in other areas or no other area on my body appeared to be swollen.

I am sacred that i might have contracted some disease from blood draw and so anxious that i have lost appetite and have a feeling i have lost weight though the scale shows i haven't lost any because my pants are loose on me.

does lymph nodes swell before or after throat infection and what are my chances of having contracted any disease based on symptoms i experienced.

What are the chances based on my encounter....also the nurse was not wearing glove on left hand and she used the same hand to place a cotton ball on veni puncture site to remove the needle and later band aid it.

Nothing you describe is concerning.  NO one has ever gotten HIV from having their blood drawn...this is an irrational fear.

You would not get HIV from a blood draw.
